Pancake day

I know I'm posting this blog a bit late, but I just wanted you to rest assured that I didn't miss out on my pancakes! Instead, I invited friends from work around to share in a pancake feast. Got pretty hot over that cooker, and had fun trying to use the hobs as all of the knobs were broken so you had to turn the connecting rods with a pair of pliers and had no idea what temperature they were on!

However, the results were good (and I still think lemon juice and sugar is the best topping)!

A weekend in Mshewe

I’d heard time and again how beautiful Mshewe was, but I still hadn’t got round to visiting, until this weekend. On Friday, I accompanied my colleague, who lives in Mshewe, home from work, together with my friend, colleague and housemate – Karin. It really is a beautiful and peaceful place, some 9m from the main road, with lovely views out to the hills, and surrounded by fields of maize and coffee.

On Friday evening a combination of a storm just passed and the sun setting created a spectacular sky.

Taking a little stroll the next day, we saw some beautiful butterflies…

…and this photo is specially for the folk in Lapworth – when I saw the scarecrow, it reminded me of the scarecrow competitions at home, and all the photos I have seen of them despite not being able to attend. So here’s another for the collection…

One Sunday

A couple of weeks ago, my colleague and I went to speak at a church about Teaching Children the Word of God. It seems a long time ago now, but I've had problems accessing my blog, so I've only just got round to updating it. Anyhow, thought you might like to see a few pictures of the day...

Here's a few pictures on the road as well, taken through the car window on the way back home!
